Another day when there is no God

I awoke this morning cognizant of the frailties of life, reminding myself I have been putting off taking care of myself better. There is always an excuse. Well, I am going to purchase a few items I need and get to it. I once knew a couple of ladies who were shysters at heart, who preached love and biblical "wisdom" as part of their cover. I once mentioned that the fast food they consumed daily was a killer. One assured me that they pray to god to convert the trash food into wholesome nourishment and it becomes okay. It's easy to lie to oneself, and I need to get real without further delay.

This from facebook. It says something pretty close to my own thought in the matter.

@edgarblythe,
Turn about's fair play. When I see creationist trolls in evolution threads I want to die.

@hingehead,
People who only eat salad when they go out make me want to die.

esp when it's this kind of thing

if you're going to have salad, go Cobb and make it special

I don't eat enough salad, but I make up for it with meat, beer and potato chips.

@edgarblythe,
I think the chips count as a vegetable. And beer is made from grain, so there's that.

@edgarblythe,
Cobb salad is the best salad - especially if one of the proteins is thinly sliced blue steak.

Steak is possibly my favorite food. Preferably porterhouse.

no matter how it's served

I can hear early Canada Day fireworks but wouldn't be able to see them even if I knew where they were.

I am glad I ate before all the food pictures came up. It all looks irresistible. I dined on Fried chicken and biscuits tonight.

Boy...that is a gas!

The Richard Dawkins Foundation for Reason and Science!

As though reason and science or logic, for that matter, have anything to do with atheism.

Reason, science, and logic have no more to do with atheism...than it does with theism!

It is about time that atheists become aware that just because people (hopefully) are leaving theism...that does not automatically mean they are adopting the alternate belief system of atheism.

My guess is most are growing up; dropping both of those belief systems; and adopting a more agnostic attitude.

And at some point, atheists ought to give up on that "many Americans view us as untrustworthy or frightening" nonsense. All it does it to allow atheists to think of themselves as brave heroes for standing up to this great threat they invent...almost certainly just for that purpose.

Dalai Lama is in America. Allen Ginsburg could have used his help trying to levitate the pentagon.

@edgarblythe,
That Bob Dylan got around. Heard an interview recently with Mavis Staples where she talked about her romance with Bob. He wanted to marry her.
