@edgarblythe,
Edgar you have to remember that politicians of all stripes get major money from industry and business and large banks which means they can ignore us surfs. Repub., Dem., libertarian party are all run by politicians who only worry about money and being reelected. Until we establish some way of controling the politicians like no one being able to run for any office more than twice and any politician who accepts more than $100 being charged with graft. Of course we have to get rid of a politicalized Supreme Court before any of this can be accomplished.

Where is my list Jew hater? I don't think Izzturd likes them either.
And the Tea Party is for less government, lower taxes and term limits. None of those things are bad. If they are tell me why, right after the list of lies you have for me.

Whether right or wrong, the majority voice of the news media is far from conservative.

@neologist,
Then you need to learn some definitions, including conservative, liberal, fascist and more.

The old media, before it was bought out by big business was more liberal than not. Now it says what big business wants it to say, mostly. Now they give cute videos equal status.

Looks like you enjoy telling members of the forum what to do, and how to post.

You need to learn some humility, you have arrogance down pat.

@edgarblythe,
The operative word is "old" media. AS the media consists of a handful of conglomerates, how can it be anything but right wing?

Last year, a study from two professors, Gilens of Princeton and Page of Northwestern, published a study demonstrating that the US is no longer a democracy but an oligarchy. I was deeply disappointed that no revolution erupted.

But, then as real wages for the bottom four quintiles have remained flat since 1979, well, perhaps, we are too busy working two and three jobs to make ends meet to revolt. Besides, the report was old news for most of us on the left.

It puzzles me that oligarchy can move in with a silent revolution and when informed the public seems to not bat an eye over it. What am I missing here?

@edgarblythe,
Money owns government. We have a conservative congress, president, and Supreme Court that has made money paramount. No limit to political contributions, "graft" corporations being people according to the Supreme Court, and citizens who have become too stupid to realize that little by little their freedoms are being removed a layer at a time. By the time they finally realize it it will take an armed revolution to regain them even though with a little study and intelligent voting they could keep them.

@plainoldme,
Are you saying the news media is conservative?
I will certainly revise my understanding if it is.

@neologist,
I have said that for years. Most of the owners -- up and down the chain of command -- are conservative. Paul Erlich was Ira Flato's guest this past Friday and when Flato asked him why scientists are not willing to speak out, Erlich replied that there are more scientists now who are willing but that what we loosely refer to as the media has barred them entry.

There have been recent studies that demonstrate that fox news viewers know less about current events than people who say they never pay attention to any news source. Let's face it, fox news is the beaver shot network. It puts their women -- can we even dignify them with the title, "news reader"? -- in extremely short skirts and sits them on sofas. I swear their audience mainly consists of the viagra crowd, looking to remember their younger days and thrills of the past.

But, enough satire.

I hear the conservative voices, rising to ridicule Erlich. Erlich and Thomas Malthus are popular conservative whipping boys but that says more about the lack of analytical skills on the part of the right. Time and place and history are lost.

Do I think that some of the posters here might be on the payroll of some right wing organization? Why not?

The news media obsessively repeats attacks on Democrats without digging into the facts behind the attacks. They ignore most attacks on Republicans. Look how nuts Cruz presents himself. Does the media take him to task? Never.

True

I personally get my news from the internet as either the cable news is too conservative or just plain boring like CNN, gave up on MSNBC a year or two ago as being just an answer to Fox News.

Guess who owns the cable and satellite channels? The same people that push the progressive agenda on network TV, with the exception of FOX.

Can you name one other conservative channel?
