U.N. Selects Israel As World’s Worst Abuser of Women’s Rights

Not only is that total bullshit. The UN is total bullshit.

Quote:
It’s hard to understand why we allow the U.N. to take up the most expensive East River real estate in New York. They are an organization of anti-Israel and anti-American socialists, dictators and fascists.

This year they selected Israel as the worst abuser of women’s rights – of Palestinian women’s rights. Their selection was posted in a U.N. report titled, “Situation of and assistance to Palestinian women.” Forty-five states participated and only Israel and the U.S. opposed the censure. Thirteen members of the European Union abstained.

The U.N.’s Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) chose Israel out of 193 nations, which includes countries that allow women to be beaten by their husbands, women who need four witnesses to prove they’ve been raped, women who suffer sexual mutilation, and women who have to walk around covered up from head to toe.

They did not choose China with its millions of women who face forced abortions and sterilizations.

One of the members of the CSW is Iran where adultery is punishable by stoning and women who kill their rapists are executed. Women in Iran need the consent of their husbands to hold a job. An Iranian woman must not step beyond her house for her presence in society breeds sin. She must stay at home, serving her husband’s carnal desires and taking care of the household. Women of Iran can’t be judges and they can never be president. Harsher punishments are issued for women, their credibility as witnesses and inheritance rights are half those of men in Iran.

The CSW will say the alleged Israeli occupation prevents Palestinian women from advancing and becoming self-reliant. It’s not their religion and traditions. It’s the Jews fault.

Jews are the U.N.’s favorite scapegoats.

@coldjoint,
I am honestly curious if there is any substance to this.

Do you have the primary source where the UN CSW actually says that Israel is the world's worst abuser, or are these the words of conservative bloggers?

This sounds like propaganda to me. Please send me a link to what was actually said.

@coldjoint,
I did try Google. I found nothing outside of conservative blogs and one notoriously untrustworthy news source. None of them provided any reference to what was actually said.

I think this is just conservative propaganda with no substance, but I am open minded enough to give you a chance to show me what this is about.

Can you provide a single link where someone other than a conservative blogger or commentator says that Israel is the worst abuser of women's rights?

Google doesn't seem to think that this has happened.

I can't tell you if this particular one is true (I've just heard about it and don't know anything about it), but the UN does have a long and inglorious history of exactly this sort of anti-Semitism.

@coldjoint,
Hmmmm Coldjoint.

I said that I suspected that this was conservative propaganda and asked if you could find me anyone who said that Israel was the worst violator of woman's rights other than conservative commentators... and you give me Fox news.

That's funny.

I read the Fox News piece with an open mind, and there is still no quote of anyone (other then the Fox New commentator) saying that Israel is the worst violator of woman's rights.

If Fox New's doesn't have one, than can I assume that it doesn't exist?

This is conservative propaganda. One way to stifle any criticism of Israel is to label any criticism of Israel as anti-semitism. This one is a little ridiculous.

If you consider any criticism of Israel to be anti-Semitism, then you probably believe this.

Is there any criticism of Israel's behavior toward the Palestinians that you think is legitimate?

@maxdancona,
Here you go Dumbass.
Quote:
Of the 45 member states that participated in the vote, only the United States and Israel chose to oppose it. Everybody else apparently agreed that Israel’s justified treatment of Palestinian women, many of whom actively plot terrorist attacks on their neighbor, constitutes some sort of moral failing.

Quote:
The resolution also fails to take into consideration the women’s rights violations committed by Hamas, which enforces a litany of strict Islamic codes over Palestinian women, who may not dance, smoke in public, ride behind a man on a motor scooter or even obtain salon treatment from a male hairdresser.

Got that?

If the alleged "criticism" is actually an outrageous untrue allegation of improper behavior, then yes, it is very much anti-Semitism.

The essence of anti-Semitism has always been false accusations that Jews are doing horrible things. Disguising it by saying that it is mere "criticism" for what they are being falsely accused of doesn't make it any less anti-Semitism.

My dear Coldjoint. What you just posted is a conservative blogger. There is not a single quote on that link where someone other than said blogger says that Israel is the worst abuser of woman's rights.

Would you like to try again... maybe posting something other than a quote from a conservative blogger.

@oralloy,
Do you see the circularity of your argument Oralloy?

In my opinion, some criticisms of Israel have been wrong, and some criticisms of Israel have been valid.

An open mind is helpful.

Something based on the truth could be legitimate.

I can't say that I've ever heard any criticism of Israel that was based on the truth, but I suppose it is hypothetically possible.

There is no circularity in my argument. Disguising anti-Semitism by "criticizing" Jews for what they are being falsely accused of does not make it any less anti-Semitism.

@oralloy,
The circularity is obvious. If every criticism of Israel is anti-semitism then no criticism of Israel is not anti-semitic.

Israel is the Feminist of the Middle-East-- everything is misogyny when you criticize Feminists, everything is anti-semitism when you criticize Israel. (I know you understand this Oralloy.)
