....just came across my feed.
Struck by lightning this morning.
@TheCobbler,
There is no Mr. Itch, as anyone with just a passing knowledge of the Mr Men would have known. You're starting to sound like Mr Uppity.
@TheCobbler,
That's because god is a mystical figure, and nobody can show he/she/it exists.
Unfortunately, man has created so many gods, it's a wonder they all survived.
@Leadfoot,
I am an agnostic, so I am uncertain at any given time what is tickling my itch.
@TheCobbler,
When I have an itch, I scratch it. If that doesn't work, I put anti-itch lotion on the spot.
@TheCobbler,
You are unusually honest and vocal about your itches for an agnostic. But sometimes I swear I think you get what God is about.
I think that religion offers hope for the world today. Take away organized faith, the bible, the koran, or any other religious text and a person is still faced with eternity. Whether that eternity is filled with heaven or hell, or just plain lights out, man faces eternity all of his life. The 100 years or less time spent on this earth is literally nothing compared to how much time is spent doing whatever it is you do when you die. I know, at least for me, it fascinates me to think about and understand my creator. I love and get loved back, always. I have a sense of purpose, I am not afraid of death, or life. Basically I feel as if life is just me stopping by on my way to what's next, and if I am wrong I guess I would never know. The world can have that feeling. The world has always had the choice to have that feeling. The world will always have the choice to have that feeling. God cannot be disproved.

Religion offers hope to those who fear oblivion. It doesn't really serve the world we live in.
@Glennn,
It actually offers hope of an after life. Some of us don't believe in such a thing.
@TheCobbler,
I hope that's true. The deadbeat republicans are worthless manure.
Bush/Cheney Privatizing our military for profit! The taxpayers pay...

@TheCobbler,
That's the same with the prison system in the US.
Racist republicans at it again!
