Bones Season 4 episode 23 titled "The Girl in the Mask"
In the beginning of the episode Dr. Lance Sweets is insulted for just being a psychiatrist and not a true scientist. Dr. Lance Sweets says in response, "Sometimes I hate hard science!" (sound like the GOP?)
Comment:
Would a real psychiatrist "hate hard science"?
Psychiatrists use hard science too! Pulse, heart rate, medicine, chemistry, biology and many more fields of "science"...
Without hard science a psychiatrist would be lost.
Psychiatry is based upon many years of clinical observation not Bible verses written by, err, "holy men"...
Later in the episode
Dr Tanaka (a guest medical examiner to the show) says, "Forgive me Dr. Brennan, but I must ask you if you are familiar with the Shinto idea of Kami, the spiritual essence of an object?"
She continues:
"I often find that handling the bones gives me insight that pure science cannot explain."
Comment:
Do you know of any legitimate medical examiner that would say this? Even handling bones requires careful scrutiny, minute examination and evidential observation.
Unless one is talking about revelation from some sky god...
Dr. Brennan replies, "Well I find that pure science is the only thing that gives satisfactory explanations."
Comment:
What exactly is pure science?
I know what science is but not pure science.
Is pure science any different than science Fox Network?
Is the word "pure" added only to cast doubt that science is somehow impure without spirituality?
Well then call in the mediums, fortune tellers and hookie-pook snake handlers!
Then Dr. Brennan (Bones) notices some anomaly about the skull and says, there is something with the temporal bone. (this is a physical observation not something gleaned from the spirit world)
She hands the skull to Dr. Tanaka, she says, "Yes, the tympanomastoid a swelling in the airspace. Tympanomastoid hemorrhaging in the absence of a bleeding diathesis.
Dr. Tanaka says, the victim was drowned.
Very impressive Dr. Tanaka. says Dr. Brennan.
Dr. Tanaka then says, it wasn't me it was the Kami.
Comment:
Really? You did not use your eyes to examine the enlarged temporal bone? Your sky God told you what any skilled scientist could derive from simple observation.
Then Dr. Angela Montenegro comes in and says, "Well, she wasn't killed by whatever pierced her brain. I aspirated her lungs, cause of death was drowning."
Comment:
Well that is proof of the sky God beyond a shadow of a doubt! Thank you Fox writers for proving this un-provable assumption.
Forget you just saw this on TV and none of this propaganda is real!
So now that you know pure science is not true you can call down your sky God and discriminate with racism, bigotry and (Fox News) lies whatever you want and science is feeble and worthless against such, err, ill begotten fantastical faith...
It is obvious also how Fox network applies Dr Tanaka's appearance
Does she look like your average medical examiner?
With blue dye in her disheveled hair, perfect fodder to deceive any millennials watching the show.
Even Dr. Brennan seems noticeably in doubt of her own scientific method.
This is why the Fox Cable Network cannot be trusted, the propaganda is subtle but extremely devious!
Seems harmless on the surface but inside it is a big fat lie meant to make people doubt science!
Consider this is not a supernatural show like the X-files, it is a show about using science to uncover deception.
Then the end of the show Bones and Booth argue over whether we are designed to handle loss. Assuming we are "designed" and not simply products of evolution...
