In the real world, NATO should have been abolished the day after the CCCP collapsed; it's done nothing but cause trouble since that day.
In the real world, at several points after the CCCP fell, Russians were promised that NATO would never try to park its goofy ass on Russia's doorstep; all such promises have been broken.
In the real world, the legitimate elected government of Ukraine made a decision to go with a rational money deal offered by Russia and not with an irrational deal offered by the European Central Bank. That was way too much for the bankers who Bork Obunga works for: the rogue US State Department fomented one of their Color Revolutions culminating in the sniper killings at Maidan which are now known to be the work of the Nazis who we are supporting and who have taken over Kiev and Western Ukraine. In fact the one other cause celebre in this sordid affair, the shootdown of the airliner MH17, is also know to be a falsed flag op perpetrated by the Kiev Nazis.
In the real world, if Russians WANTED Ukraine, they could roll it up, all of it and not just the Eastern parts, in less than 48 hours. The reason they don't is almost certainly the same reason we've never simply grabbed Mexico, i.e. a morbid fear that whatever is going on there might be contageous:
ALL Putin has tried to do so far is protect the ethnically Russian people in Crimea and other parts of Eastern Ukraine from the Kiev Nazis.
In the real world, Ukraine, under the Kiev Nazis, is totally collapsing and falling apart. There are huge numbers of Ukrainian draft dodgers piling up in all of the surrounding countries, they've been using no-retreat squads to shoot their own men if they try to retreat, and they just utterly got their asses handed to them at Debaltseve, and no other part of their country appears to be working any better than their military. The whole place is a shambles.
And, finally, in the real world, we have one particular lunatic by the name of Victoria Nuland in our State Department who, if she is not removed and that fairly quickly, is highlylikely to get all of us involved in some sort of a stupid atom-bomb or even hydrogen-bomb war.
