Screening a new babysitter

Bromeliad, go with your instinct. I think your feeling a little uneasy about this choice of baby-sitter for some reason?

She then said, sure, why not and gave me her name and number.

I actually feel pretty positively about this lady. Her own daughter seems bright and well-adjusted.

In general, though, I worry very, very much about my daughter. So does my husband. We're both worriers and our fears seem to magnify one another's.

So I'm left with this question:

Should I pursue the DUI matter any further?

Does anyone think that having a DUI from 7 yrs ago would make her a bad babysitter?

No. A DUI from last MONTH would make me leery, but 7 YEARS ago? That's a bit obsessive. Besides, it may not even have been her.

I guess none of this matters since my husband has nixed the idea.

He says he doesn't feel comfortable with leaving my dd with this woman since he doesn't know her. I suggested he meet her; he said he still wouldn't *really* know her. I suppose not.

So I just wasted $50 bucks doing the records check.

And I don't get a break.

Of course you can have a break. Leave her with dear husband.

Don't ask, just do it. And we'll see how fast he finds an "acceptable" sitter.
