@oralloy,
The inescapable fact is tht guns are an extremely effective offensive weapon as well as a defensive one. Which was after allthey were invented. Gun zealots ignore that dual nature. Society does not. That means that there is a slow but steady decline in support for the NRA and guns in general. That's why the message of the Parkland survivors resonates so well with millennials and why you're going to be in deep **** as the electon cycles go by and they become a in greater part of the electorate. Scalia himself left a lot of room in his language in summation of Heller for a lot of regulation and your obduracy in defense of murder means that its coming.

That is incorrect. I have an exceedingly good memory.

You're bluffing. And I call your bluff. You cannot point out a single thing that I'm wrong about.

We don't ignore this. We are well aware of it.

We do not require support. We stand for ourselves.

Not at all. Our strength in rural districts remains undiminished, and will remain undiminished.

MontereyJack wrote:

ONLY if that regulation can be justified with a good reason.

That the left thinks it is fun to violate people's civil liberties does not count as a good reason.

You can not point to a single place where I have defended murder.

@TheCobbler,
Good grief. What do you want to do with children when their parents are incarcerated? Feed them to jackals?

@coldjoint,
Actually, the book of Genesis says a person is not a "living soul" until they breathe through their nostrils.

That means "the LORD" does not consider a fetus "living"...

Maybe you should actually read the Bible before you start putting your republican rapists party's words in God's mouth...

Ever heard the term "the breath of life" fetuses do not breathe through their mouth or their nose they get oxygen through an umbilical cord.

You treat the scriptures haphazardly, the same way your party treats the living. Republican, greedy, stingy, hateful, racist, misogynist, selfish, homophobic, uncharitable, Christians... notice the contradiction in there?

King James Bible
John 3:14
We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.

Comment:

Loving the unborn dead while hating the living is anti-Christ.
Republicans love only money...

Is it not the democrats who support healthcare and the social safety net?
Do you really think you are fooling anyone with your twisted Russian propaganda rhetoric?

King James Bible
1 Timothy 6:10
For the love of money is the root of all evil:

Comment:
There is some Bible for you..

And here...

King James Bible
John 4:20
If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?

Comment:
Republicans claim to love God whom they have never seen but they hate their immigrant brother whom they have seen...

Republicans openly hate food stamps which feed children, those with disabilities and the elderly...

Now, I don't expect you CJ to use the Bible to back up your point of view because you do not know the scriptures, you never put your heart and soul into learning them. Yet, you follow a party of those who claim to know them, which shows the lack of understanding you call "truth".

And if you want to know what the Bible defines a "brother" as?

It is not a person of your earthly family... It is not white KKK members... it is a person of your spiritual family... and nearly all of the migrants from South America are Christian brothers and sisters!

2 Timothy 2:15 King James Version
15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Comment
So a lack of study is your source of SHAME... It must suck to feel that way and know in your heart that you are participating in evil towards humanity.

Especially when you expose the depth of your ignorance of the Bible for all to see.

I am not claiming the Bible is truth but it helps to at least know what is written there.

Since you are oblivious to what is actually written you are merely a puppet to whatever wind of doctrine blows your way.

What a sad, pathetic and pitiful man you are.

@oralloy,
You do not" incarcerate" people seeking asylum... you detain and process them as a family unit.

You act as if seeking asylum is a crime. Oh, but that is what your child rapist party and their fake news labels them as, criminals, drug dealers and thugs.

We never should have put the republican jackals in office in the first place...

Just like Obama. That has been proven. Where were you then? Do you have any posts from when that happened? If you do I would like to see it.

You do if they are illegal immigrants and their asylum claim is frivolous.

Send children to jail alongside their parents.... Well, if that's what the left wants to do with children, they should push for legislation to authorize such practices.

Dan Rather wrote:
This is who he is, who he was, and ever shall be.

Tonight we saw once more the man in full who was surprisingly and controversially elected to the presidency.
President Trump may be shrouded in the power and privilege of his office but he is diminished by historic
unpopularity, buffeted by scandal and struggling in the recent repudiation of the midterm election.

Much of the rhetoric tonight was expected. There was fear mongering, shallow bravado, and recurrent waves
of divisiveness. That it was delivered from a teleprompter with more competence than customary does not
diminish the harshness of the rhetoric. There were moments where he bowed to more unifying language, but
how many people think Trump believes what he says? And tomorrow one can expect Trump unmoored
will return to Twitter.

Overshadowing the speech was a threat that, in the President's mind, progress demands an end to investigations.
If that was a trial balloon, it is one made of lead. And yet, lest anyone see distance between the man at the podium
and the Republican lawmakers, the standing ovations he received were of a frequency and precision I have
rarely seen by either party to previous State of the Unions.

In the end, I doubt many if any minds were swayed. How many even watched? Does it matter? Do we care?

Previous presidents facing political headwinds have used this speech to tack towards the center, to at least
play lip service to the unity of our nation and the worth of those on the other side of the aisle. The President,
by instinct, necessity or psychology, only knows the high stakes of doubling down no matter the hand.
We've seen how that instinct ended up in his casino businesses. But here we have no choice but to watch
him play his cards, no matter how ruinous.

Yet the power of the presidency, as we are seeing, has its limits. The opposition is riled and ready. No speech
will change the battle lines and political calculus over the future and vision for our nation.

State of the Union speeches rarely last in the consciousness of the country. And one has a sense that this one
is already being forgotten, or was never thought about in the first place.

And the lord has done much worse than commit abortions.

Killing every first-born in Egypt for example. Those kids were already born even.
