There was no attempt to fix the election. There was an attempt to persuade the voters.
Russia has every right under the First Amendment to try to persuade the voters. Nothing wrong with that.
When the various states of the Russian Federation are accepted into US membership by three quarters of the present day United States, then the First Amendment applies to Russian states.
Until then, we sanction the crap out them. So does the EU. Then we laugh when a roll of Charmin becomes worth more than a roll of paper rubles.

If anyone told me 30 years ago, even 20 years ago anyone as empty as Trump could be the republican party candidate, let alone become president, I would have been backing away very very quietly with a wary smile so as to remove myself as quickly as possible.
