@TheCobbler,
If Hillary was our President...

Our healthcare premiums would be way down and not in danger of being sabotaged by lobbying insurance companies... All states would be participating.

There would be a comprehensive anti nuclear agreement with North Korea.

Our nuclear agreement with Iran would not be torn up and in the trash.

We would be basking in our friendly relations with our allies in Europe and on our borders.

Puerto Rico would have electricity.

Putin would have sanctions on him, the world body united against his evil, and his crooked cronies would be in jail.

The planet would be safe from water and air polluters.

Solar, wind and all other forms of green energy would have probably doubled. Our dependence on hydrocarbons perhaps cut in half.

Israel would not be at another war with Palestine...

Saudi Arabia would not be mass murdering people in Yemen.

There would not be creepy religious rats in the White House.

The White House would not be a shithole.

Melania would finally get her divorce.

The rich would be paying their fair share of taxes rather than sticking the tax burden to the middle class.

Many high paying jobs would have been created for fixing our crumbling infrastructure instead of giving a trillion dollar freebie to the rich.

Education would be more affordable.

Our economy would be booming because of equal pay for women and better paying jobs (and corporations paying taxes...).

17 students in Parkland Florida would probably still be alive.

Children would not be exploited by the US on our southern border for political extortion.

Climate change reversal would well be underway.

We would not be the laughingstock of the world.

Our government agencies would not have been decimated by appointing crazies to run them.

More of our judge appointees would be honorable and respect the US constitution.

Our government would be a source of trust and not highly suspect of corruption and traitors.

Wall Street would not have been given "again" a free-pass by republicans to rip off consumers with risky under handed investment.

Trump would have had to pay for his own golf trips and his properties would not be a haven for illegal government contracts. Other businesses would have a chance to bid and prosper too. Competition is good for taxpayers.

Cyber security would not be in the trash and our private military secrets would not be blabber-mouthed all over the globe...

Americans would have unity and a sense of pride rather than embarrassment.

Crops would not be rotting on the vine because of no cheap labor force to pick them.

Coal miners would have green energy jobs instead of being laid off.

Our steel industry would not be used for Trump's personal profit.

Hillary would not have tried to impose a pipeline for personal profit on pristine Indian land.

We would not be in a tariff war with our allies because our poor improvised 1% needs more money. (violins)

Stormy Daniels would not be front page news.

Millions would not have been wasted on the FBI chasing around a dirty crook of a President.

Republicans might have done okay in the next election instead they are losing all respect of their own party. (let's hope they lose their shirts!)

Republican pimps and pedophiles would not be running for office.

We would not have had to endure Trump's diarrhea of the mouth tweets on Twitter...

Nazis and dictators would not be being compared to our country by those sensible enough to abhor such fascist things.

We would not have a racist in the White House.

Hillary would not have driven the Sunni to join ISIS with, "to Russia with love" treason.

She would not have given terrorists, Miranda rights.

Hillary would never have called white nationalists "very fine people".

Hillary would not have attacked our free press.

And, Trump would be in court facing the law and order he thinks he is above. (Soon... soon.)

@TheCobbler,
I quoted your entire post in case anyone missed it. You definitely captured many of the reasons why so many bad things have been happening to so many people. Sadly the truly bitter and resentful see Trump as the man who will punish all the unworthy folks who they fear have eclipsed them socially and economically.

Trump understands this all too well, because he sees other people's happiness or wellbeing as something that dilutes his personal happiness. I see a man who is annoyed when others look comfortable or unworried....it angers him and he must do something/anything to make them uncomfortable or uncertain. He is a man of rapacious appetites that will never be satisfied....there will never be enough money, enough women, enough adulation, enough power......and when the prince is displeased he chooses severe punishment, possibly obliteration, just complete destruction of anyone he deems an enemy. I think Trump is a nihilist, he sucks all the oxygen out of a room and only feels alive while watching others try to deal with the unnecessary chaos he creates.

I seldom pay attention to the 'thumbs' feature, but I thumbed up your post because I believe you made valid points that reasonable people will recognize.

TheCobbler wrote:

You know... In order to live a good life with ethics and concern for people you have to love someone. Be it someone who is struggling hard to make ends meet, someone who may be from another culture or even simply to love yourself enough to want to be someone respectable.

When hate eclipses this love inside then, selfishness and false narratives drown out this feeling of love and caring for everyone and everything.

People riddled by this hate do not care about their self image, they only care about hurting others. By taking away the things they love. i.e. their healthcare and safety net, their freedom, their hope of a path for citizenship, their clean water, their electricity and the sanctity of their island in the Atlantic, they will even take away their children to prevent them from realizing a better existence. They greedily profit from the misery of others, their souls are darkened and they have no love at all. They do not even care about their own wife enough to remain faithful... and they would let their children take the fall for them rather than do the right thing.

Others with no feeling and a heartless existence identify with this same hate and want to see it do harm to others less fortunate then themselves.

All because they do not love anything enough to lift themselves up out of their own despair and learn to care for others.

It only takes a little bit of love to turn around and see the error of their ways but they have no love at all. Love unravels riddles and love sheds light on their hate. If they had love they would see the path of compassion. If they had love their heart would be wide open and they would not lump the good people with the bad people just because of the color of their skin. They would not let school children starve because their father is sick and does not have a job. They would not pollute the water and air just to make their sightless partisan political party more powerful. They would see solutions other than guns... The would not hunt endangered animals just for a trophy to stroke their loveless ego. If they had love, they could see passion over principle and the black and white would turn to a gray area, a less critical sense of judgment, an acceptance towards others.

If they had love they would not envy the accomplishments of others and out of jealousy set out to undo them. They would make their own accomplishments shine rather than tarnish the good out of spite. They would build bridges to our allies rather than walls...

All because they do not have something they love, they lust instead.

They lust after money, porn stars, power, and begrudge someone else even a handshake that subtracts from their own glory.

Love is not lust... Love is fulfilling while lust leaves one empty and unfulfilled.

I just thought I would insert a pause in this thread just to reflect on the motives of some of the people here.

A loveless person knows what they are doing is wrong... but spite has grown larger than their love and it has eclipsed the sunlight in their heart.

Even a tiny bit of love seems foreign to them. They think hate and fear are love.

I will say this as I have said it before in this forum.

Love motivation is much greater in the positive than fear can ever be in the negative. Expect those with this brand of hate and envy of others to pass soon as, "love conquereth all".

You may resume... Smile

@glitterbag,
I also agree with TheCobbler, and gave him a thumb's up. We need to give more support for what's right when we see it. Otherwise, the naysayers wins the battle.

@TheCobbler,
We can wish that, but that's not going to happen. The only consequence for Trump is what the historians say about him. He's been a bigot, liar, scammer, wives cheater, ignorant about the US Constitution, foreign affairs, free trade, tariffs, and his wall. There are just too many negatives for Trump to escape this record. Historians will not be kind. Even today, his approval rating is one of the lowest in our history.

What a bunch of crap. Trump would not have waited until he was 70. And he had wealth and world wide recognition, no matter what people thought, they knew who he was. I hate to burst your bubble but he is a man who loves America and everyday it shows. There are still people that value the individual and he is one of them.

You can hate him until the day you die, but that will not change the fact you and yours have lost. And will continue to lose for 6 more years.

Yes, the whole world knew who Donald Trump was. A bigot, liar, scammer, wife cheater, and a whole slew of negatives. We knew Trump didn't rent any of his apartments to blacks in NYC. He also paid for a full-page ad to execute five innocent black kids. He failed to pay his attorneys and contractors. Yes, we knew all of this before he became president of this country, and he's demeaned the position by making the presidency a commercial enterprise for himself and his family. He's also insulted our allies and have shown respect for Putin. What more can there be that would make him less a pariah?

@coldjoint,
What you don't understand is that I don't hate Trump or anyone. The US was not willing to sink this low until Obama was elected, then for reasons that only you and other authoritarian worshipers understand everyone lost their minds. The republicans fielded 18 candidates and the rest was history. The crudest, crassest, most vulgar and lurid man stood out. The sheep could not resist. It was too much fun. He called people names like low-energy Jeb, how much fun is that??? (that's why he couldn't have done this until he was 70) One of my oldest friends said to me that Trump just says out loud what everybody else is thinking. That was probably one of the most insulting things I ever heard, and from a woman for which I had nothing but respect. Until then.

You and your fellow travelers may not want to see it for what it is, and that's fine with me. Perhaps the citizens are ready for a dictatorship, maybe a family dynasty like the Kim's have enjoyed. Trumps ready, and his stepford family
and the thugs he enjoys so much...the ones who are willing to demolish their own reputations to gain favor with Glorious Leader.

You made me laugh when you said you hate to burst my bubble, then offloaded that happy horse **** about how much Trump loves America, you really think he values the individual?????? He is the ONLY individual that he values. I'm not interested in trying to change your mind, I just don't care, I've spent my entire life avoiding negative blowhards like you.

@cicerone imposter,
I disagree, our country is one of law and order Trump will lose big when his day in court comes.

History has not been kind to Hitler or Nixon. History was not kind to Hitler's henchmen either. I am not sure what alternate reality you are referring to.

Hitler died a horrible cyanide self-induced suicide and Nixon was disgraced and had to leave office on a pardon or risk going to jail for a long time. Had Nixon not resigned, Gerald Ford would not have pardoned him...

Benito Mussolini faced execution by a firing squad and Saddam Hussein was hung by a rope until he died.

The oblivious and opulent Marie Antoinette was beheaded at the guillotine.

Money cannot always buy you clemency or a good historical biography.

The world does not treat crooked rulers, tyrants and despots with flattering words after they are gone.

I am not sure how one twists racism, ripping children away from their parents, and sex with porn stars while your wife is having a baby into a good president story.

Henry the 8th is still considered a lecherous and barbaric king, not sure how one can sugar coat the beheading of wives to marry another.

History is not going to forget Trump accepting Russian money to deceive the US electorate, spread fake news and win an election. Inciting racial violence, openly asking the Russians to cyber attack our country. Denying credible intelligence reports.

History will not be kind to Trump. Once the details are out from the special council they will be in the world for scrutiny for many years to come.

Just like how historians have marveled on those wonderful, splendid and brilliant years with George W. Bush as president and all of the lovely books written admiring his presidency. (cynical)

Trump is definitely the worse president we have ever had.

History will not soon forget this crook of a president.

Ronald Reagan is still considered a bad president by most people. The more you learn about Reagan the less he is liked.

History remembers the good and the bad. Though there is nearly no good about Trump to credit him with. A bad speaker, a bobble head twitter, a racist and a bad president and a bad business man who earned all of his money cheating people out of their lively hood with fake universities and hotels that sell sex, drugs and laundering money for mobsters and corrupt states...

What good is there to remember him for?

I really can't think of anything worthy he has done. A bad reality show, an nasty "grab 'em by the p***y" comment... Donald Trump is a failure whose only way to win is by lies and cheating because the real truth is, he is a loser, a shyster who attracts the worst people around him who are crooked just like him. They all fall from grace because they have no substance other than greed. His buddies who are in jail for rape and pedophilia... How about writing that in his biography?

Fake preachers and opportunists who would sell their political seat for personal gain with no morals and ethical girth... Trump surrounds himself with the lowest of the low.

That is Donald Trump. Even Shakespeare could not turn this tragedy into a farce.

[Well it's not free speech when you pay for it....it's a lot more like hate speech, vigilante justice.........inflaming mob violence (and I don't know how to figure out how this becomes 'Capitalism')]

Yeah, I know, you get a charge out of thinking you matter enough to get a response.....but, every so often I read your remarks.......and I never learn anything new...you really are pointless when it comes to conversation and hopeless in many others areas.....but I don't hold it against you.....I just need to do a much better job of ignoring you.
