Did Dick Cheney knowingly and recklessly put top secret emails on an unsecured server that could easily be hacked by foreign governments?

@oralloy,
No, Cheney did much worse. And we have no evidence that Hillary's server was hacked, and evidence that the State Dep't server was indeed hacked, so the country came out ahead security-wise with Hillary doing it the way she did.

Only sane conclusion: No harm, No foul.

Gosh no, that wasn't super patriot Cheney, he was content outing a CIA asset, after all, her husband wouldn't confirm their lies.

@glitterbag,

That's right: Cheney outing of Valerie Plume was COLOSSALLY STUPID. But, we all knew he was stupid; the world knows he's stupid.

There is no way to know if the server was hacked given the lack of security features. It would have been trivially easy for any foreign government to do so however.

Leaving top secret information out where foreign governments could easily access it without us even knowing is hardly a security plus.

That's a fair point. Cheney was wrong too.

Deleting an email won't prevent us from knowing whether an unsecured server was used.

@oralloy,
It doesn't matter if Hillary's email was hacked. She already ignored regulations about using person accounts. There should have been some penalty for ignoring the regulations, but Comey decided not to charge her. End of story.

@oralloy,
There were many in Cheney's VP office that knowingly used the RNC server to send and receive emails while conducting government business. Either Cheney knew or perhaps you are arguing that he was incompetent and should be barred from ever holding office again.

@oralloy,
Are they also concerned about other politicians who had their emails hacked?

If the emails contained top secret information, I would expect an equal level of concern.

If the politician was merely discussing their latest round at the golf course, that would be less concerning (although it would still be good to discourage such hacking).

@parados,
So why didn't the Dems do investigations back in 2008-2010 when they had a majority in Congress.

@Baldimo,
Because they don't use the power of the government to attack their political opponents. Do you really prefer they did that?

@parados,
If they broke the law or even suspected they broke the law, then it wouldn't be an attack on political opponents, it would be making sure that they are following the law and to prevent others from violating those same laws.

How would we know their emails weren't hacked?

Nonsense. Abusing government power to attack their opponents is about the only thing that the Left does do.
