I'd ask you too to explain what flaws there are in current regulation...

- background checks are inadequate due to many concerning event not appearing on them (i.e. mental health, addiction, domestic abuse)
- guns sold by private parties to each other (aka the gun show loophole) are not subject to even the inadequate background checks
- people on watch lists are allowed to buy guns

Those are just the flaws off the top of my head.

@TheCobbler,
Quote:
You respond as if any regulation on guns is against our constitution.

I have never implied any such thing, I'm concerned over what you consider regulation since it seems that regulation to you guys means a ban.

Quote:
Guns are apparently not regulated enough.

As I noted above, regulation means ban in your parlance.

Quote:
A "well regulated militia" we are most certainly not!

Are you really so dumb as to continue to misapply that phrase? Regulated militia refers to training of the militia. Plus you always seem to leave out this part of the Amendment...

Quote:
,the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

You anti-gunners seem to think this is the only Amendment that doesn't apply to the people, when the rest of the Amendments apply to the people.

@snood,
Thats because when they read the second amendment all they see is, I have the right to own a gun. They are blind to the rest of it.

@RABEL222,

Any event that would legally justify depriving people of their rights is already part of the system.

And in fact the Obama Administration is criminally abusing the background check system by adding people who are still legally entitled to have guns.

maporsche wrote:

It is unclear whether you refer to gun shows alone, or to all private sales.

As far as gun shows go, it is necessary to allow people to buy guns without background checks because of the way the Obama Administration is criminally abusing the background check system (as described above).

Private sales that do not involve gun shows are intentionally outside the background check system, because including them in the background check system would enable any American to carry out background checks on unlimited numbers of other Americans -- a massive invasion of privacy.

No flaw there. Being on such a list does not justify depriving anyone of their rights.

Senator Kelly Ayotte voted to leave guns in dangerous hands. If you were wondering why, check out the numbers.

@TheCobbler,
I wonder whether politicians sell their souls for the necessary money needed to campaign or they were already tainted before running.

So all of the lobbies that the Dems receive money from is ok? It's only the evil NRA and their money that you have a problem with?
