My son is very coulrophobic, and I don't want them on my screen.
I never heard of Charlie Kirk until his death, but since then I have perused some of his messages on YouTube and Facebook, I must say I am shocked at the filth, hatred and vitriol that he espoused. I am also shocked that so many people looked up to and almost venerated him.
If I had a child, I would not allow him access to Charlie Kirk's broadcasts any more that I would allow him access to strong porn. Charlie Kirk was a purveyor of ultra-right wing politics. He was not a conservative by any definition. I am closer to conservatism than he was.
I remember when George Walace was shot. Somehow, it made him a better man. Kirk will never be able to redeem himself, and if anything the extremist Maga party members will only use the shooting to reinforce their polarity.
He death was caused by reactionary and fascist infighting and not by conservatives, moderates or liberals. It was closer to gang violence or mob disagreements than political disagreements. Kirk's widow, Erika, has also responded more with vitriol and hatred and a display of vengeance than with grief. And her histrionics is almost laughable. She should be in grand opera comedies or silent films.
That should tell you something.
