Gary Busey is throwing his support behind Donald Trump, saying the GOP presidential candidate “can change the country after the last eight years.”
The eccentric “Point Break” actor, currently a contestant on ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars,” told Fox News on Monday, “I know [Trump] personally. I know him professionally. He’s a great guy. He’s sharp. He’s fast.”
Busey, 71, starred in two seasons of “Celebrity Apprentice,” hosted by Trump. The Academy Award-nominee told Fox News he enjoyed “every day” that he worked with Trump on the NBC series.
The network announced Monday that Arnold Schwarzenegger would become the new “Celebrity Apprentice” host after Trump and NBC parted ways following the real estate mogul’s controversial comments on illegal immigration.
Busey told The Hill in 2011 that he was supporting then-Republican White House hopeful Newt Gingrich in the 2012 election. He later withdrew the endorsement.
