It depends on whether you think a million dollar loan is a small loan.

Seriously, if this is the best you can come up with when I ask you for a lie Trump has put in a book you should consider voting for him.

Reminds me of people who claim that Trump is an unethical creep who takes undue advantage of people but after all these years in the big time Trump so far as I know has not been deemed such by a court of law. And dont tell me that it is because he is a member of the elite because most of the people he works with are as well. And a lot of people who build and work in Trump projects have unions that could go to bat for them if Trump was a bad boy.

You kept a straight face writing that? What about the millions he walked out from under in his four or so bankruptcies?

@Baldimo,
I guess it is pretty small compared to some of the whoppers he's told.

@hawkeye10,
YOu might want to do some basic research....

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/thr-esq/donald-trump-loses-libel-lawsuit-232923

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2015/07/06/trump-sued-everyone-but-his-hairdresser.html

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3176878/Ivana-claimed-Donald-Trump-violated-violent-sex-attack-amid-argument-bald-patch-treatments.html

Simply reading the lawsuits on Trump's wiki pages shows he has settled several suits rather than go to court and has lost other suits.

@parados,
So you see what I mean about there being an empty record. This seems like an above board honest fella.

@hawkeye10,
So no convictions or loss in court makes Trump a good man. Got it. (Ignore the fact that Trump has lost many court cases or settled them before going to trial.)

So no convictions or loss in court makes Hillary a horrible person. Got that too.

Your standard is "Person you like - good, Person you don't like - bad." Facts be damned.

“They’re bonkers. Bizarre. They’re like a Star Wars bar room”: A former Republican congressman bemoans his sorry candidates

"Carson? Trump? They're out of their f*cking minds," an ex-rep tells Robert Reich. "The rest aren't much better"

This originally appeared on Robert Reich's blog.

The other night I phoned a former Republican member of Congress with whom I’d worked in the 1990s on various pieces of legislation. I consider him a friend. I wanted his take on the Republican candidates because I felt I needed a reality check. Was I becoming excessively crotchety and partisan, or are these people really as weird as they seem? We got right into it:

Me: “So what do really you think of these candidates?”

Him: “You want my unvarnished opinion?”

Me: “Please. That’s why I called.”

Him: “They’re all nuts.”

Me: “Seriously. What do you really think of them?”

Him: “I just told you. They’re bonkers. Bizarre. They’re like a Star Wars bar room.”

Me: “How did it happen? How did your party manage to come up with this collection?”

Him: “We didn’t. They came up with themselves. There’s no party any more. It’s chaos. Anybody can just decide they want to be the Republican nominee, and make a run for it. Carson? Trump? They’re in the lead and they’re both out of their f*cking minds.”

Me: “That’s not reassuring.”

Him: “It’s a disaster. I’m telling you, if either of them is elected, this country is going to hell. The rest of them aren’t much better. I mean, Carly Fiorina? Really? Rubio? Please. Ted Cruz? Oh my god. And the people we thought had it sewn up, who are halfway sane – Bush and Christie – they’re sounding almost as batty as the rest.”

Me: “Who’s to blame for this mess?”

Him: “Roger Ailes, David and Charles Koch, Rupert Murdoch, Rush Limbaugh. I could go on. They’ve poisoned the American mind and destroyed the Republican Party.

Me: “Nice talking with you.”

Him: “Sleep well.”

@bobsal u1553115,
Of course a kept a straight face when I said that. It is relative. To me a million would be a big loan but to someone else it wouldn't. I have some friends from my military academy days who are very well off and if they had to pull a million dollar loan, it wouldn't be a big deal. As I said, it's relative.

Is his the only business that has undergone bankruptcy in the past?

@bobsal u1553115,
A couple of things. Calling me a birther is lame as I think Obama is indeed a US citizen. His mother was, so it doesn't matter where he was born as he would automatically be a citizen. I only question the possible lie about being a foreign student to get into Columbia. If this were someone from the right, the media would have dug in until they found what was really going on. They didn't touch it or make record requests.

Why are you so childish as to purposefully misspell people's names? How old are you Bob?
