Why We Need Information

We are left in the dark about most things the government does. They say it is for the sake of "National Security," but what they are hiding most likely would not cause any problems with National Securtity. We need to know this stuff because we need to exercise our rights more and get the information they are hiding. Allowing this means they can basically do what ever they want if they all agree that it would effect National Security. This could leader to a Totalitarian Leadership. The government doing as they wish with no consent of the people. Please fix anything I might be messing up on. This is my belief, and I would like to hear about yours.
