Hi! I'm hoping someone can help me out with these... I have a few phrases in English that I'm hoping to get translated into Latin.
1st: How would you translate the saying "You call the shots" in English?
Obviously it's a figure of speech, and you wouldn't translate it word for word, but does anyone have any idea as to how you would say something like that in Latin, correctly? Sort of like "You're the boss". Would that be "Tu es dux" ??
2nd: How would you say "You have power" or "use your power" in Latin?
Thanks!
@Gisellehere,
I don't know of a Latin equivalent to "You call the shots."
Tu es dux is certainly correct and would do for a translation of "You're the
boss."
Understanding "power" in the sense of the power of command,
"You have power" is
Imperium habes
and "Use your power" is
Imperium utere.
