She's doing it already

Already the new democrat from S. Dakota is showing her colors. She has already voted against helping unemployed people find work.

"She also took note of the "tragedy" that led to her election former GOP Rep. Bill Janklow's resignation, which followed his conviction of manslaughter for his involvement in a fatal traffic accident.

A few hours after he spoke, Herseth returned to the House floor and cast her vote against administration-backed legislation that would give eligible unemployed workers up to $3,000 for use on job training and other services that might help them find work."

The full story is here...

My question is...does this make sense at all, especially if she wants to be re-elected?

I couldn't get the link to work, but here's a thought, why don't you ask her? Call her office and ask for an explanation. Maybe the legislation you are apparently in favor of stinks in some way. Maybe she was committed by some other agreement (lawmaking, Rolling Eyes don't look.) Maybe she goofed, but what are you going to do, watch every vote she makes till the next election?
Does this issue affect you personally or are you just determined to shoot at anything or anyone who looks like a Democrat?

I found it entirely by accident.I was looking for something else.
I am not shooting at her or her votes. It doesnt affect me,nor do I know anyone it does affect.
I was more interested in the fact that it wont help her get re-elected,and I thought every politician was concerned about that.

I dont know enough about the bill to comment on the bill, just what I read in the article.
I dont know why the link wont work,it does for me.

Got it. Just learned that some pages won't open if you have the Able2know pop-up blocker on.

Looked pretty normal to me. Legislation said by the Democrats to be short on real action for the unemployed is opposed by them and she joined in, Republicans looking for openings took their shot. So who was right? The Dems, we need to do more; or the Repubs, hey just follow along with the smoke and mirrors. Which?

Joe,
I dont know which one of them is right.
I was actually reading about the reality show spoof the dems are running, and the story about her was at the bottom of the article.
To be honest,I dont understand what one has to do with the other.

Recently the U.S. Senate voted on whether to extend unemployment benefits in the face of rather high unemployment. As the job picture is improving and unemployment is slowly coming down, some thought an extension was premature; therefore it was a very close vote. The bill failed by one vote.

The one senator who failed to vote: John Kerry.
