I I lie on my stomach and lift my lower legs, which muscles am I using?

Then you are doing quad stretches. Quadriceps are the muscles in the front of your thighs that are responsible for straightening the knee and bending the hip.

Those are one of the PT exercises my mom does post knee replacement surgery except she can't grab her foot, she just raises and lowers her leg.
