May I correctly translate the expression 'for (on behalf of) teaching/learning', as 'pro disciplinam'? (Should I use a different word or case?)

Use the ablative (disciplina) rather than the accusative.

Alternatively, you might ad plus the gerund of disco:
ad discendum
