I recently inherited a small collection of paintings from a close relative but i have no idea about their valuation. However, i did an online research and I found that even well known auction Houses have auctioned painting by some of the artists I show bellow.
In the bottom, there are also some Asian ceramics/vases that again if any of you has any experience on this kind of art i would highly appreciate any insight/information about them.
Thank you in advance,

Alex

@aim,
Nice inheritence, aim.

They all look good quality, so whoever collected these had a good eye, imo.

Regarding 8. The four claws on the dragon would strongly suggest that it is Chinese.
Japanese dragons tend to have three claws, "ordinary" Chinese dragons have four, and Chinese Imperial Dragons have five or more.

There are exceptions, but generally the dragons follow these rules.

One other thing I would suggest would be to try and get your hands on any piece of documentary evidence regarding these items. Sales invoices, provenance letters, anything.
This will help tremendously in the future should you decide to sell any of them.

@Lordyaswas, thank you for your kind words and the information you shared.
These pictures were taken some time ago as a very quick way to document the pieces but i do plan to go and carefully take pictures of them, measure them and try to spot the information you mention.
However, i am reluctant to go directly to auction Houses or galleries as I am completely clueless and I am an easy "target" for them, provided that these pieces are of some value.
They do have sentimental value for me and I am not sure I would like to sell them however, this is an option I would consider for some of them as need change through time and the house that hosts these articles will need to be totally remodeled. As each single item was carefully selected for the specific spot it occupies inside the house i am not sure that later will all of them find a new spot inside it so i would like to know the options I have (just some background story.. hehe).
Still, if I could get some more specific information (of possible) from any of you it would be great.

greetings to all,

Alex
