Allowed and aloud sound alike, don't they? Though one is allowed to be loud on occasion, sometimes it annoys folks in the vicinity.

US politics is a minefield on which the world treads. All the world's eyes will be on Washington in November, but I wonder how many will be losing sleep over the Namibian elections of that month?

Month of July has been the worst for years. Looking forward to the weekend when the sun's going to shine.

"Shine," the first single from Collective Soul's Debut album "Hints Allegations and Things Left Unsaid," brought them to the attention of many alternative rock fans. The single, I believe, was one of the longest debut hits to be played in heavy rotation on the radio.

Radio killed the gramophone star, it is reputed. How long did that single last?

Last time I listened to that CD was at least a few years ago, so it seems as if I exaggerated about the length a bit. It is only 5 minutes and 5 seconds long.

"Long live the queen/king!" What does that mean? Surely one does not hope them to live forever! And what if you don't like them? Who will tell me?!

Mackinac Island is just north of the lower peninsula of Michigan (yes, there's also an upper peninsula). It's quaint in places, a little touristy in others, but it's pleasant and beautiful. The mucky-mucks and 'Richie-Rich's' stay at the *Grand Hotel. There are cottages and B & B's too. Most shops are pretty unique. Then there's that great fudge! And you can bike around the island or take a carriage ride. There's also a little stone church I just love near the Grand Hotel.
*The movie 'Somewhere In Time' with Jane Seymour and Christopher Reeves was filmed there when I was a kid.

'Me, me, me' is an attitude too far-spread in society. Whatever happened to caring about the world's future?

(It sounds lovely, Dev. When did you first go? Where does one get the ferry to there?)

Future generations will have the benefit of many new medical treatments based on hormone and gene therapy, some of which may prevent certain illnesses from developing. The stem-cell regeneration project for Parkinson's is a case in point.

'Point me the way to home' is just one example of removing prepositions indiscriminately in English. It must be difficult to understand a language that is used uniquely by so many.

Many elephants are capable pianists; they play a lot of Mozart, Rachmaninov, and Ravel (especially the pieces composed for the left foot!).

Foot of a monkey is considered good luck in some places. But, bare feet is considered bad; which one do we believe?

The representation of emotional bias is to be avoided.
Humanity may drown in a cauldron of old sayings, missdirection, and lies!

Lies lead many to become layabouts lest they fall off ledges of deceit. Alternately, many become invigorated by the intrigue factor in a life of lying.

Lying down in the hay, or even rolling in it, is not such a great experience. One should think with foresight, before trying to do this.

This is this and that is that., and ne'er the twain shall meet! How profound!

In Mackinac, of course! It's at the northernmost point of the lower peninsula. There are several ferry companies. I went first when I was an elementary-aged kid. I don't remember exactly what age. The Mackinac bridge is also rather impressive. It spans between the cities of Mackinac and St. Ignace. It connects upper and lower penninsula Michigan.

Profound sleep is about to overtake me and if I don't leave the computer, I'll end up with my head on the keyboard. So, goodnight everyone, and sleep tight!
