@Dutchy,
Month after month I drag my aching body from here to there in this weary world of woe. Why I can't think.

@spendius,
Think of the people you value, and those who value you. Do a little yoga to relieve the aches.

@spikepipsqueak,
Aches and pains are unpleasant feelings that involve nerve impulses. They begin with some type of injury or desease process.

@Dutchy,
Process the vegies and bottle the fruit in preparation for Winter. Kinda glad I live in the present time where it is easier to buy processed food.

@spikepipsqueak,
Food is one of life's greatest pleasures. A diet of fish, fruit, legumes, bread (or pasta), wine, and chocolate would more than adequately meet my daily requirements for flavor, nutrition and gastronomic pleasure.

@aidan,
Pleasure that the hand can't reach is delusion. French saying, that Epicurians would not deny.

*That's interesting Francis - is it still delusion if it's really there, but just out of one's reach?

Deny oneself pleasure that the hand can reach and I'd call one a spartan, though others might call it being sensible. Sometimes I think I could be more sensible.

Well, maybe something is lost in translation. Usually I use "decoy" instead of delusion.
But, yes, it's still delusion if the hand can't reach..

Sensible people think that wisdom is a mean term between Stoicism and Epicureanism. In medio veritas, as the Latins used to say...

@Francis,
Say guys, this thread is turning into something highly educational. I don't mind telling you I feel somewhat out of my depth...

@Dutchy,
Depth of experience counts for something. Of course, there are those who claim depth of pockets is the clincher.

@spikepipsqueak,
Clincher is a song performed by a singer called Chevelle. It's hard rock metal music, not my genre.

@Dutchy,
Genre, style, we use these things to identify ourselves, these days. I like it, but underneath it all I'd rather define myself by personal characteristics.

@spikepipsqueak,
Characteristics vary in every individual. Einstein was four years old before he could speak and seven before he could read!

Read much about the "great minds" and it's interesting to note how non-standard they are. What a pity that we don't tolerate deviation better.

@spikepipsqueak,
Better arrangements for meeting ladies ought to be brought in using scientific principles. The current system of wobbling your eyeballs at them, buying them drinks and listing to their idiotic prattling should be replaced by a requisition forms which have them sent up to your room with fees on a sliding scale based on their presentability as determined by a committee of responsible officers duly elected by those who have served more than five years leaning on a provincial public house bar.

@spendius,
Bar that suggestion for a joke spendi. I'm quite capable of picking up an eloquent and suitable lady myself without the assistance of others.

@Dutchy,
Others, as you call them are quite useful. With my scientific system you could have the 20 dollar basic version Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and the 200 dollar set up when you've had a good touch off the bookies and get more shagging and save money to boot.

Boot yourself up the bum for me, Spendi Very Happy . But do it gently, you can't possibly be the superficial, cynical arsehole you sometimes paint yourself to be.

Be kind to our English friend spikepipsqueak. He adores us colonials and quite frankly I think his latest suggestion has a lot of merit.

@Dutchy,
"Merit" doesn't fit well into what I need to say. I have found Spendi has a sense of humour and I think he will take my utterance with a grain of salt, as I took his.
