Nearby to me there are some houses I would compare with hen cabins fetching almost half a million, it's going very silly.

Silly prices are OK if you have the house but it's downright criminal for the dispossessed or young. I can't imagine my sons ever being able to own anything in or near London, except possibly the one doing Law!

Law and order do not stop housing inflation of this nature and what about the additional costs for the young, we are going to become a nation of excessive rent payers, unless we all move into mobile homes. Actually I have just heard about one of those with a riverside mooring being sold for £375,000.00. Now that is serious

Serious money, yes. I've looked at a lovely old mill in Bristol for 550K with a mooring on the Avon.

Avon calling! Thank God Martha, for a moment I thought it might be the Jehovah's Witnesses.

Witnesses of road accidents don't always come forward at the time. At the moment it's my word against that of the woman who crashed into my car.

Car crashes are generally the fault of both parties. That might be why I have never been involved in one.

One might be prepared to say 'Your a clever little pillock' but that would be bad manners and totally uncharacteristic

Uncharacteristic of Mathos, he decided that holding his tongue and employing good manners was the proper route to take today. They say one can always change, who knows, maybe he has had an epiphany of some sort.

Sort of thing that happens to one when he is least expecting it, like being struck by a bolt of lightening and feeling a terrible pain from the left side of one's face all the way through the left side of the body, and then it's over, as quick as a flash (if you'll pardon the pun) and you have no idea how close you really came to still being around. Consequently you think it might have been the footwear that saved me or perhaps I have a guardian angle, oh well, it happened and I'm still here so lets get on with it.

It hasn't escaped my notice that any Tom, Dick or Harry can make up that sort of cyber drivel in order to prove that he is tougher and more resiliant than the average person. It isn't worth the screen space it is written on.

On with the show as they say. Have you noticed the 'show' between Matgos and 'Spendi' shows no sign of abating?

Abating winds have set my mind at ease on the matter of roof tiles. But they've not been good for my roses.

Roses can be saved by a guardian angle, a stout piece of 3" x 2" mild steel with the plant securely tied or wired to it. The support can be set in the ground or screwed or bolted to a wall.

Wall Street is a narrow street in lower Manhattan in New York. It is considered to be the historical heart of the Financial District.

District nurses used to be the power in the land, usually dressed in black and riding 'sit up and beg' bicycles. Now there are Health Visitors in cars.

In Scotland they wore dark green coats and were called "Green Ladies" I seem to remember.

It's wrong to have high expectations if you want to be happy. Expect nothing and everything that comes to you will be a bonus.
