Sexy beast is a movie starring Ben Kingsley. It's all about a gangster recruiting a retired safecracker for one last job.

Job is something you don't really relish, whether it be around the house or for money; when it's enjoyable, we tend to use nicer words.

Words of wisdom often come in the form of quotes, stories, poems, proverbs, thoughts and more. Like, abscence makes the heart grow fonder.

Fonder of you I could not be, you peerless joy, as my wife said to me just the other day. I thought that was a bit strong, myself.

Myself is not a word I tend to use myself. It seems such a self-centred and egotistical word and I avoid it myself whenever I can.

Hand to mouth living is not something I have experienced since a brief period in India when I had to put a couple of eggs and some rice on tick for the following month when our allowance hadn't come and we'd been robbed.

Robbed outside a bank today was a security guard in Bolton. Detectives are appealing for witnesses.

(Isn't a 2 sentence answer required for this thread?)

Witnesses can testify that I usually put two sentences, but I feel that the length and complexity of my single sentences render this an unnecessary indulgence. But you can chastise me, as usual.

Usual methods of producing a desired effect can get boring. Unusual methods are often worth experimenting with.

With a will and a large saw, even a hefty fallen pear tree can be sawn up for firewood. My cousin, who lives in the Kensal Rise Tornado Zone, has just such a tree in her garden.

Garden roses are a trifly lush and somewhat pretentious. I much prefer the gentler wild variety.

Variety is more than the spice of life, it's the essence. Spice is added by being static for a bit, but it soon palls.

Palls Reunited, that's been the surprise hit of the last few years. It's a website to help people get in touch with old school chums that they used to see behind the bike shed, furtively smoking.

Smoking is a necessity. I can't imagine how anybody can live without it.

It seems to be a popular new year's resolution to stop smoking. As a result, chewing gum sales have increased dramatically.

Dramatically, Ann Daniels reacted to the breakup of her marriage by skiing to the south pole. Must be a drama queen.

Queen Elizabeth 1 was the first person to order a water closet from its inventor Sir John Harrington who was her godson. He had been banished from court for telling unseemly jokes and during his banishment (1584-91) he invented this device, which he dubbed Ajax, without which the giant cities of today would be impossible.

Impossible objects are of interest to painters. The Penrose triangle plays a major role in M.C. Escher's drawings.

Drawings are one of Edgar's specialities. He can draw bloomers down fast and sudden or slow and seductively depending on the ambience and the class of the lady whose bloomers necessitate being drawn down.
