Franglais is a good language, as is Chinglish. Yes, I heard with some incredulity that the French had solicited union or at least commonwealth status - absolument incroyable, I'd say!

Say, what's up with you Brits. Worried about the French taking over the place?

Myself, being an Aussie, wouldn't live anywhere else but here. Australia has it all, modern living conditions, freedom of speech, abundant scenery and a climate to match, one day beautiful, perfect the next.

Next winter, when visiting the beautiful land, I may explore the red interior. I also fancy looking at Byron's Bay where aging hippies go to die.

Die casting in a casino was a job I tried once. I gave it up on account of the fights.

Fights send my blood pressure soaring. I can stand the sight of blood, but not as the result of violence.

Violence on TV can influence people to commit crimes. Do you think the effects of watching TV violence will be brief or lasting?

Lasting pleasure can be found in poetry and music that one encountered when young. Also from good food and wine.

Wine keeps women's hearts beating healthily so I have heard. However it is still not clear exactly why moderate amounts of wine seems to be good for heart health.

Health is our most precious asset. We ignore our physical, mental and emotional well-being at our peril.

Peril suggest an exposure to risk or danger. Yellow peril was once regarded as a threat against western civilization.

Civilization as seen in the west was regarded as barbaric by the Yellow Peril, whose own civilization goes back a lot further. Until the mid eighties, homosexuality was illegal in Hong Kong because the Chinese believed it was a western-imported decadent disease.

Disease, Pestilence, War, Famine. Unless I'm mistaken, these are the four horsemen.

Ride on toys are great gifts for kids. They are built for their safety and enjoyment.

Enjoyment is intensely personal and subjective; I don't enjoy Van Morrison's singing, for example, but many do.

"Do you think I'm sexy" is a Rod Stewart hit. Personally I don't give a hoot about his singing ability but many women think otherwise.

Otherwise, he wouldn't have coined so much money and continue to receive accolades; I don't think he's sexy.
