Discrimatory behaviour, particularly on the part of refined and superior ladies, leads to all sorts of unnecessary complications and misunderstandings. What is even worse is that many opportunities to experience self-indulgent delights are squandered and are lost forever in the passage of time.

Time passing is worse for refined and superior ladies. Some get what they desserve.

Desserve is an unusual way of spelling deserve. It reminds me of the menu I saw that promised Delicious Chocolate Deserts.

Deserts are horrible, unforgiving places. I lived for a while in one and it really wasn't very nice.

Nice to know that Spendius has lived anywhere but the pub and his hovel, since he scorns travel. Now I understand that he knows whereof he speaks.

Speaks, squeakes, leeks and peeks are all perfect rhymes. One could easily use them to make up a few ditties or even a glee or two and a nice duet.

Duets for violin and piano are beautiful. I have found Greensleeves and wonder if there are others.

Others may not agree, but my idea of heaven is listening to Yehudi Menuhin playing Bruch's Violin Concerto No.1 in G minor while I am sipping a cold, crisp, dry white wine, reclining in a favourite armchair with my feet elevated onto a comfortable footstool. A rollicking good dose of Gilbert and Sullivan is also pretty uplifting.

Uplifting our eyes to the heavens we do when looking for help from above. However it is on earth that we must find solutions to our problems.

Problems with computers are completely crippling in today's world. On the other had they have brought enormous joy and profit to a great many people, and it is nigh-impossible to imagine a life entirely deprived of them now.

Now is the hour for calling a halt to stop the spilling of blood. How many more lives will be lost in a war that brings no victory but only shame for its instigators.

Instigators of unrest in various middle Eastern countries are in the minority, so it is foolish and dangerous to lump them all under one heading. Will nobody listen to the peacemakers?

Peacemakers have a difficult task. Some people want power more than they value peace, and that often makes compromise impossible.

Impossible girlfriends, some people seem to have. Modern women want it every possible way (that's a nonsexual reference) and aren't prepared to be at all compliant in a relationship.

Knows little, does one who thinks he knows much. At least, that is what I am told.

Mouthy relates to being annoyingly talkative. Don't tell Mame to 'bugger off' as she is likely to go off ranting.

(2 sentences required in this thread Mame Smile )

Ranting many people would do if you told them mildly that 2 sentences were required. I can't believe people can get righteously indignant about not playing by the rules.

Rules are meant to be followed. Break them and be prepared to face the consequences.
