Homer Simpson

In American Graffiti, character of Curt Henderson (played by Richard Dryface)

I'm presently looking for a combo picture of Homer and Bart and make it an AND/OR option.

@tsarstepan,
Which is more of a slacker?

George Costanza or Kramer?

One or both?

@parados,
I guess Kramer can be considered likable. George Costanza is an irritating/nonaffable character.

Oh! One of my favorite slackers is Hugh Grant's character in "About A Boy"!

If I recall he's a trust fund baby living off the royalties of some Christmas song his dad wrote. I adore that movie.

I'm really trying to come up with some female slackers who had the lead in a film. The best I've managed is Winona Ryder's character in "Reality Bites" and Kristin Wiig's character in "Bridesmaids" but Wiig's character was more in melt down mode after failing at running her own business so I don't think she really counts.

@boomerang,
I'll happily add the Winona Ryder character now. I really appreciate and need more female slackers.

How about Jack Black in "School of Rock"?

Still trying to think of girl slackers...

I think it must be politically incorrect to have girl slackers.

I think you hit a general weakness in Hollywood as well as TV land. Female characters (especially protagonists) are still the minority compared to their male counterparts in terms of leading movies and television series. Either way, I just added Jack Black. Thanks Boomerang. Very Happy

I guess the very movie Slacker would be left out of your list because there is no singular protagonist. Pretty much, the entire cast are the protagonists.

I would be amiss to leave that Richard Linkletter classic off (even though I have never seen it). Maybe if they have a group image, I'd use everyone (or as many characters from the show in a given image).

@tsarstepan,
The movie poster just shows one of the characters, Pap Smear Pusher, played by Teresa Taylor, who played drums for the punk band Butthole Surfers.
