Filey is not far from York at all, but Scarborough is a biker town so you have to be careful. I have plans to invest in a decent parka as well!

As many as I can get my hands on! I draw the line at a Union Jack helmet though. I do have some dignity (if only I could remember where I left it...)

I used to ride a motorcycle. Finished with Triumph Daytona 4 cylinder 1000 cc.

And it nearly finished me.

Better bike was Kawasaki GTR 1000.

Took that touring on the continent...great

Seriously thinking of buying some form of 2 wheeled machine myself. Some of these scooter-almost motorcycle thingys look quite smart.

On the other hand thinking of my waistline and the environment, maybe a push bike. One of those Brompton bikes that fold up so you can put them in a pocket and take on the train.

One of the Jap manufacturers produces a 250 that's very scooter-like. I can't remember which one. Looks like a very handy machine-with a good sized lockable storage area under the seat.

Honda do a 600(?) Silverwing scooter, and there's the Suzuki Bergman 400 & 650 as well. Big beautiful beasts! They cost almost as much as a 'proper' bike, though, but have big windscreens and automatic or semi-automatic gears.
