Birthday present?

Actually, I joined a new law firm last week. One of my new partners has season tix, and invited me and my wife to the game on Sunday.

My shop is located about a mile from UVA's football stadium. We have thought about providing parking for fans in our 30-space parking lot but we have never gotten around to doing that.
Today a lady came in asking about parking for the UNC-UVA game. We said okay. She asked how much we would charge. Allan, one of my staff, said "nothing", but she would be welcome to put something into the donation jar we keep for a local non-profit food bank.
She didn't hesitate before chipping in $40.

@realjohnboy,
Excellent! Both on your part and hers.

UVA is top on my youngest son's list of grad schools. Maybe I'll need parking
space in your lot next year.

Charlottesville is one of my all-time favorite cities and the UVA campus is gorgeous, especially in the fall. Good on Allen and your fan, rub.

WEEK #8 PREVIEW-
We return to a more normal pattern this week, with most of us agreeing on 82% of our picks. This compares to about 90% in the previous two outings.
There was consensus on Denver's win on Thursday and we all think that Cleveland and Dallas will triumph and only McGentrix has Jacksonville beating Miami.
Two games are tossups: Minnesota at Tampa Bay and Buffalo at the NY Giants.

J auman, Osso, Cowdoc and Ragman agree with the majority on the non-tossups.
AndyD, McGentrix and Fbaezer are out of step on four matches.

21-0 Atlanta over Detroit at the half. They are playing in London. Finn, Lightning and Edgar picked Atlanta.

@ossobuco,
I'm pretty negative both about the UK games at all (hard on the players) nor the idea to add more games per season, but will admit that if any in the UK were watching this, some fraction might have enjoyed it, if, and only if, they kept watching until the end.

@panzade,
I just looked at the twitter feed on yahoo and the last four or so minutes were quite the thing.

I don't like that twitter feed, it makes it hard to read the play by play, but in this case the commentary was useful.

I actually got to watch the second half on Fox TV....you're right - it was quite the thing!
