... the Lincoln Imp reminded me of another church I've visited, which has some nice "creatures" (Medieval pew ends)

What a coincidence! It happened to me as well!

(It's one of two places Europe, where three churches are at one 'spot' [the third burnt down, just parts of its tower are still to be seen.] I have no idea, where the other place is, btw.)

I think I have a picture of the water system that gets you up to that castle...taken back in 1956. Going up and down was quite interesting then. I doubt it has changed much over the years.
