Is that Winchester Cathedral?

I was there in 2001 and an odd thing happened. We looked around the cathedral and then did a tour of the crypt and took lots of photos.

When we got home and checked - not one photo of the cathedral. There were photos of before in Winchester and of places we went afterwards, but not a one of the cathedral! Weird!

@margo,
What is disconcerting for me is that I've seen almost everything there is to see in London and its environs, and I don't even recognize that interior. Maybe, what happened to your pictures is what happened to my memory; erased.

@margo,
I've been there the first time in 1963.
(But I really like Wimborne Minster better: passed that church dozens of times but only visited it for the first time two years ago.)

Close enough. It's not the Cathedral, it is Winchester, it's The Great Hall, which is free to visit. It contains "King Arthur's Round Table," not really, it actually dates to Edward III. Henry VIII had it repainted to include the Tudor Rose.

@cicerone imposter,
There's loads to see outside London. Almost every other village has a Norman Church.

@izzythepush,
I've done tours in the UK, but know there is much more to see. My favorite destination used to be London, but it just got too expensive.

The following graph shows median salary for jobs in London; I can't reconcile those incomes with the cost of living in London. How do they survive?

@cicerone imposter,
A mate of mine lived in a squat in London for a year, but others live in very overcrowded accommodation.

@izzythepush,
There's an interesting article in this morning's local newspaper that claims that Santa Clara County where we live has the highest average income in the country. The problems it points out is that the middle class is disappearing, and the housing cost and rentals are becoming impossible for the middle class to survive here, and they're moving outside the area that requires long commute times in their cars. That impacts the family in many ways - all negative.

What needs to happen is that all levels of government must implement minimum wage increases so that the gap between the richest and the middle class and poor doesn't become even greater. Those states and cities with higher minimum wages have proven to be stronger economies for all.

The list is old...2 years old. But I note that three counties in New Jersey come higher on the list than Santa Clara County in California.

@Frank Apisa,
What is wrong with you? This is a thread about locations, not personal feuds from other threads. Who cares if Loundon Virginia is more or less expensive than Santa Clara anyway?

As Margo hasn't posted a picture, I'll post another Cathedral town, not Winchester, but the home of this character.

Oh, by the way...all the places mentioned in the post you seem annoyed with...were locations.

And were in response to something someone else had posted. Give that person some crap, Izzy, not me.
