Oh really? Then I'm completely confused--please enlighten me of any convictions you have that correspond to your country. I've noticed you have many convictions but many seem self serving and others could be confused with just trying to be controversial. Maybe you can clear this up for me.

Perception,

I am loathe to get into your insult game and will post just this:

I wish for my country to behave in a manner that I agree with just as do you, how that works out in detail is too much to go into at the moment.

Because we differ on the manner in which the nation should be operated you simply dismiss my convictions merely on the grouds that they do not correlate with yours (note you now cede convictions but call them "self-serving" which is at least better than the initial insult claiming non-existence).

But I don't plan to address you further perception, I was glad to see you back but am disappointed in that you've just been insulting everyone you disagree with. I do not wish to be a part of this and hope you can understand.

I am without convictions ... but that's just because they never could prove anything.

Point well taken Bill.

We're not at the beginning of the end of this initiative, we're at the end of the beginning. After the June 30 deadline comes and goes I'll reasses my thoughts on this Marine's view.
As will I Panzade, as will I.

Hyper-partisan oil-stealing accusations aside; all they really need to do take control of their country is prove they can, without all the ugliness. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that a significant majority of Iraq's citizens realize this peace is an offer they can't refuse. Davie only beats Goliath in fairy tales and The United States makes a better friend than foe. Sooner or later, they have to get it. They just have to.

That would be humorous if it wasn't so sad. While I was gone I was surprised to hear that you were indulging in the insult game so I came back to see for myself.

Before you go off in a "snit" please understand this: I said you appeared not have a country nor a conviction to match (your non-country. " Your non-country" was not verbalized but see if it doesn't fit. I am much happier that I won't be confronted by your sudden "shark" attacks.

Also you are wrong about insulting everyone who doesn't agree with me. Blatham sometimes gets a sharp word from me but never an insult-----I know he will blow me out of the water. I always reserve the right to insult stupid willful attacks on my country and the soldiers who serve her

Bye

You seem to equate patriotism with politicle beliefs. A conserative is a patriot who believes in anything the Bush government says is true. The rest of us are unamerican communists who should be run out of the country. Does this about fit your estimate of those of us who are against this war? It might interest you to know that I have relation in Iraq who I hope will be able to return to his wife and kids. He is going back for the third time. He is a citizen soilder who was drawn in by the promise of an education. He isent a desk jocky. He's on the ground and in danger. I get tired of listening to people sitting in front of thier computer pushing a war that they dont have to participate in. Its easy to be a patriot when no one is trying to blow your head off.

Do you mean THIS---John Kerry:

If ahm elected President---ah will create 10,000,000 new jobs. This from a guy who has never been in business which BTW creates the jobs-----and lived off a gov't job and the pocket change from two wealthy wives.

The soldier in the article identifies himself as an "Intelligence officer". Isn't this a desk job?

It may be that his perspective is a might bit different than the poor grunts who have to go out on patrols...

Just FYI ebrown,
Marine Intelligence Officers are not some CIA like desk jockey sitting in an office somewhere pushing papers.

Marine Intelligence Officers accompany the Marine Infantry, fight alongside them and collect data firsthand and then they pass that data along to the Navy Intelligence units that ARE sitting at desks.

Try to remember that, as the old saying goes, every Marine is an Infantryman first.

Just a rundown on just what comprises an Intelligence Officer in the U.S.M.C.:

MOS 0203, Ground Intelligence Officer (I)

a. Summary. Ground intelligence officers primarily serve as platoon commanders in division reconnaissance companies. Infantry battalion scout/sniper platoons, and other ground intelligence assignments: Battalion, Regiment, and Division Staffs, Force Service Support Group, and Intelligence Battalion.

b. Requirements/Prerequisites
(1) Must be eligible for a top secret clearance based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI).
(2) Must be a lieutenant to be assigned this MOS as a primary MOS. This MOS may be assigned as an additional MOS to captains and above.
(3) Complete the Infantry Officer Course (IOC), MCCDC, Quantico, VA; the Scout Sniper Platoon Commander's Course (SSPCC), MCCDC, Quantico, VA; and the Ground Intelligence Officer's Course (GIOC), Navy Marine Corps Intelligence Training Center (NMITC), Dam Neck, VA.
(4) The following courses of instruction are desirable as skills progression courses for MOS 0203:
(a) Intel Collection Management Course, Washington, DC.
(b) Combat Targeting Course, Goodfellow AFB, TX.
(c) Indications and Warnings Course, Washington, DC.
(d) Intelligence Analyst Course, Washington, DC.

c. Duties. For a complete listing of duties and tasks, refer to MCO 3500.32 Part I, Part II, and Part III, Intelligence Training and Readiness Manual.
d. Related DOT Classification/DOT Code (1) Intelligence Research Specialist 059.167-010 (2) Intelligence Specialist 059.267-014
