This painting here at my house, who is the woman in the painting? Who painted it? What era, what style is this in?

You know, the one over there in the corner by the door--i found it at a yard sale a couple of weeks ago.

@Setanta,
A2K appraisers will be by shortly. Make sure to leave a USB port open as they are kinda short.

@Setanta,
That painting was stolen during a burglary at my place not long ago. The RCMP will be visiting you shortly.

Don't even think you're gettin' this painting from me. The savage dogs sleep by the front door.

@Setanta,
I'm quite sure it's a Rembrandt.

Why do you employ such short appraisers? Surely their size must give them an odd view of artwork!?

@Setanta,
OMG, you found a real Mona Lisa at a yard sale! I just know it's a genuine Mona Lisa by the way you referred to "the woman" in the painting.

It's a little known fact that Da Vinci painted many Mona Lisas beside the one in the Louvre. He kept painting them and painting them until he got it right. Here's a small sample of some of them that have turned up so far.

He refused to allow these other originals to be displayed, or even known about, but more and more have surfaced at yard sales these days. You seem to have been one of the lucky buyers who spotted one. Congrats! You own a genuine original Mona Lisa! I don't have to see it. I am never wrong about these things.
