You are wrong Baldimo... and if you took a couple of minutes to read a little history you would know you are wrong. You should start with the Johnson-Reed act of 1924 which was the first major bill to restrict immigration to the US other than the Chinese exclusion act (i.e. before that, anyone could cross through the border into the US, even through Ellis Island, as long as they weren't either sick or Asian).
By the way, it might suprise you, but it is a fact; no one in history ever passed through Ellis Island on foot.
