Wilmots vs. Klinsmann = 1:1

(Okay, history. 14.09.1996. Schalke 04 vs. Bayern Munich )

@Walter Hinteler,
If it's half as good as 1982, it will be memorable. Hopefully without a Battiston (sp.?) type incident (one for the afficionados, that!).

I reckon Belgium will thrash the USA.

Fast pace, Eden Hazard...what more do you want?

3 - 1 is my forecast.

@lmur,
That was between the Bleus and our team - Platini said about it that is was his "most beautiful game".
(Klinsmann played at that time only in Germany's U16, Wilmots started his international in 1986 in Belgium's U19)

@Lordyaswas,
That would be the logical outcome but I tend to root for the underdog...

@Olivier5,
The odds are pretty good for either team. Good to see the U.S. getting this far.

@Lordyaswas,
He was in Chelsea's team for five years. (Last year on loan in Bremen, now sold to Wolfsburg.)

@Lordyaswas,
Commentator said American players have gone off with hamstring problems in as many games, blamed it on a too strenuous training regime. Either way something's not right.

@Walter Hinteler,
Weeping!

OK.. riddle me this, Batman....how does someone decide when they've played enough 'extra-time' mins?

Uh oh! USA just scored...it's now 2-1. back in the battle...there's still hope!

On hamstring problems, I remember a lot of those going on, not only u.s. On the other hand, haven't followed the stats.

Well, dammit, we were doing pretty well but getting tired, and there's the dreaded Lukaku, twice. Well, so far. So it goes.

edit, oops, missed Green's goal...

Fbaezer would be even further ahead than he is in Fantasy World Cup if he had kept him in the Quarterfinals.

@Walter Hinteler,
goalie, Tim Howard..is a miracle man

OK, somehow there's 6 mins left. As the common-tater said,
"if US is going to go out, they're going out on their shield!"

Plenty of drama here. Pressure is almost all US ..on Belgium.

@Ragman,
True, I remember that from last WC. But so many have been great this time - Ochoa, Navas and I'm forgetting some others.

Someone said somewhere yesterday that Navas would never have to pay for a beer again.
