Hi

My Mum has told me about a painting that her Grandma used to have on the wall. She recently saw it in the background on a tv programme and having seen it the photo of it yesterday, I have found a better example on the web. Sadly, there are no details. Can anybody help with it as Google's image search and trawling through a couple of art sites haven't come up with anything as yet. The bot looks european to me.

Thanks.

@rjm67,
This painting is by:

Marie Lucas Robiquet

It used to be printed in biscuit tins made by Crawford&Sons in the fifties.

Good catch. I thought it was a nice commercial piece. Is that one a print then?

@bobsal u1553115,
Seems to be a print.

Quote:
The original painting is entitled ‘sea dreams’ (location unknown) and it was painted by Marie Lucas-Robiquet in c. 1930. She exhibited the original at the official Salon of Paris in 1930 and it was reproduced into prints thereafter...
'Sea Dreams' was a very popular print in Britain c. 1940-50. Lucas-Robiquet resided in Saint Raphael, France during the time the original painting was executed, therefore I think that the subject matter is from this area of France
