There's no need to pick any players for Phase 3 until the games played on 4th and 5th July have been completed and the last four teams left in the tournament are known. Don' t beat yourself up, osso - it was an understandable mistake. I for one love your commitment to this thread.
Well Phase 2 has been a bit of a damp squib so far.
To be expected I suppose, we were never going to get the same go for it attitude of the group stage.
Maybe the 1/4 finals might surprise.
Brilliant pictures by the way.

Only James Rodriguez. Only him.
Phase 2 standings:
1. eurocelticyankee 12
2. hingehead 9
2. ossobuco 9
2. Pantalones 9
5. fbaezer 6
The rest is with 0 points, so far.
Most of us are mathematically eliminated.
ossobuco wins with a goal by Van Persie, while Messi and Robben do not score. She wins in any case Van Persie scores at least one more goal than Messi, while Robben scores less goals than Van Persie.
George needs a hat trick by Robben, Van Persie to score twice and Messi not to score. If the Dutch make those 5 goals and Messi scores once, the winner is Tico
Lordyaswas needs 12 goals by Robben and one more goal by him for every goal made by Messi.
In all other cases, Phase 2 will go to eurocelticyankee
Oh, oh, oh! The lion and the sloth are presently kicking the futbol (or whatever).
No, wait, the sloth is still resting and the lion is the only one kicking.
Makes sense.
edit, I was wrong, the sloth is kicking, off and on.

Goals in penalty shoot-outs do not count for FIFA's scoring stats. They do not count for this game, either.
eurocelticyankee is the winner for phase 2!
Looking forward to Netherlands-Costa Rica... I like both of them. However, Goooooo! Costa Rica!
It was sad to see the Ticos bow out, wasn't it?

@ossobuco,
Thank you Osso.
But it wasn't just me, it was a team effort. I''d like to thank my Mum for getting me this far and Jesus.
Oh and James Rodriguez, cant forget him.
Poor ol' Neymar, nasty injury. I've watched Zuniga's challenge on him a few times and I still cant tell if he meant to do him.
Benefit of the doubt n' that.
