@blueveinedthrobber,
I've had that too - and I hate it. It does bother me. Somebody does that to a lot of my posts - even to some of my 'bump' posts - now that is sad!

@Setanta,

And then I come along and vote them all back up.

@edgarblythe,
I don't think it's coldsore thumbing me down because I blocked him a long time ago

@blueveinedthrobber,
Ah, but you cannot block anyone from seeing your own posts. You just don't see their posts. That option was under discussion some years ago, but it never materialized. Sadly.

@roger,
I think my post thumber (as opposed to thread thumber, which is reasonable to me) is a blocked person. On changing to have blocking go both ways, if that ever happens, I'd be mixed about it, unless there was a choice for the way it is now too. There are a couple of people I give a rest from time to time but un-ignore later, giving my brain a few days at the beach.

Anyway, this all used to bother me more.

@vonny,
What does "bump" mean? I've wondered but never took the time to ask.

@JLNobody,
On really long threads you can't see the latest posts when they click over to a new page. First up you need to posts after the last one on the page before you can see them. The longer the thread the more posts you need to see the next page. On the caption the cartoon thread it now takes about 6 posts before you see the next page. So lots of people post short 'bump' messages trying to make the new page appear.

It's a programming issue that's been around for ages but I don't think Craven's very interested in fixing it.

I sometimes get the feeling that someone is following me around giving me a thumbs up. I find at least one on almost all my posts. Sometimes I don't see anything thumb-worthy--either up or down.

However, a thumb up is fine with me.

BTW, in the wee hours of the morning, almost all the new posts are given a thumbs down. Why? Dunno. Who does it? Don't know that either.

@Roberta,
Depends on which posts. If they are totally spam, they get a down thumb if spam. If the title suggests weight loss, muscle building, skin care, or 'kitchens', that's the probable reason. Reporting a post automatically generates the thumb. Hey, it's almost the only hobby I can afford.

@Rockhead,
There involvement with bugs is limited to wrapping their tails around themselves and gazing at them intently. Not much activity out of these guys.

My thumber-upper seems to be gone. Sigh.
