I can tell you that her (first) name is absolutely different from American or western European names, but if the issue is name prejudice, why did it happen to virtually all of the over 40 people in her graduating class? And anyway, how stupid do you have to be to disqualify a job applicant for having the name Sasha or whatever?

Don't worry about Sasha. In Russia, it's a guys nickname for Alexander.

Same in other European countries - even a proper name of it's own here for females and males. (Between 1969 and 1995 always in the top list of baby names - females less than males)

Just to complete the story, my wife, whose name is not Sasha, has been working in two locations of a local chain of diagnostic centers for a year now. At first, she was a part time employee who was usually used only four hours a week on Saturdays. Then they started using her almost 40 hours a week, but still with part time status and no benefits. Now she is full time and receives benefits. Unfortunately, her location is 34 miles away from our home, but we will eventually fix that too.
I like that idea,i would guess that could be a possibility
