Hi ,
I have a 240v single phase electric motor out of a trash compactor which I'm trying to work out the wiring of.
It has 6 wires all coming out of the windings and no illustration on the data plate. As it's from a trash compactor I'm assuming its reversible.
The only info on the data plate is 240v, 50/60 HZ, 3.0/2.4 amps and 1425/1725 RPM.
An orange and a blue wire come out one side and a black, Red, Grey and White come out the other. All wires are plain coloured- no stripes etc.
Any help would be gratefully received!
Thanks,
Roger.
I am NOT an electrician, but I stayed at Holiday Inn Express two weeks ago. In house wiring, Single Phase 220/240 is usually two 110/120 VAC feeds(Red & Black), a Common(White) and a Ground(Green). I love how you have then entire rainbow available. The other colors may be 90 degree Phase points. Update: I missed the dual speed part. Now it all is clear...as mud.
