It's always my impression that it's the thought that counts. c.i.

I like ehbeth's theme and variations, love it in fact. I have done elaborate wrappings in collage, etc. for the sheer fun of it, but those bits selected for the collage have to do with the gift itself only insofar as I try to have the gift relate to the person it is for, and the collage relate to the person it is for...but not so directly to the gift. Cool, ehbeth, and I absolutely think that what you are doing is a form of art.

JL, your answer about the gift wrapping and insect capturing tasks was priceless.

Its a pity I didn't see this thread earlier... I have
always wanted to be one of those people who
have the talent, the gift of making the ordinary
look extraordinary. I guess that talent would
be ART, and I am not gifted in that way, at
least not that I'm aware of. I am good with
my camera - I like to use cut outs, and
people's favorite cartoon characters for
wrappings.... but I have seen such really
divine looking gifts that the gift itself really
doesn't matter at all.The gift is a combination
of the present and the way it is given, or
presented, wrapped ... whatever.
