I believe in New York many decisions concerning public resources are made by independent Commissions and Authorities. I believe the commissioners and trustees are selected by elected leaders (e.g., mayors, speakers, governors) and serve for a fixed term.

Are there examples of any of these commissioners/trustees then voting for a position different than that of the elected leader who selected him/her?
