Muslims, pregnant women ...
Check out this article. Here's a blurb:
Democratic Rep. Chris Kolb of Ann Arbor, the first openly gay legislator in Michigan, pointed out that while the legislation prohibits racial discrimination by health care providers, it does not ban discrimination based on a person's sexual orientation.

Since when do "health care providers" ask patients about their sexual orientation? The question usually asked prior to a PE is "Are you sexually active"? I've never heard any follow-up on that question.
It's really not very specific, but it does allow for discrimination without reason. if a doctor sees a person who's overtly gay, she/he can say "Eeeeww! It's against my religious/moral beliefs to examine that patient". I wonder if it's not too late to write and let our reps know what we think? i'll have to check it out.
I am also thinking this could be a hoax, but it's easy enough to find out on the Thomas website.
So much for the Hypocratic Oath ALL doctors take and promise to uphold.
You'll never believe this; they don't take it anymore! I just saw a speaker on medical ethics and that's one of the things I learned. I don't recall when they stopped, however.
How exactly would a physician determine if his or her patient were gay?
Would the patient be asked to sing a chous from 'People?'
I don't know, you'll have to read the bill.
Apparently, it is the choice of med schools whether or not to take that oath.
