What to say? I bet Israel is in that case no unique case in this world. But I'll just wait for steissd.

Mr. Vanunu made his business, selling out interests of his country for cash. Such things happen anywhere (take for example, Lord How-How or Kim Filby). He still possesses some sensitive information regarding Israeli nuclear potential. Therefore, restrictions imposed on him have nothing to do with additional punishment, these are national security precautions. We may speculate about military secrets becoming obsolete in 18 years, but experts of the Defense Office know better what can be declassified, and what cannot, than anyone of us.

As soon as he leaves that cathedral, some indoctrinated idiot will try and kill him.
It seems unlikely, maximum, some rotten tomatoes and foul eggs may be thrown at him when he passes by the street. But if he violates conditions imposed on him by the law authorities, he may be taken back to jail.

.....and this is free! Funny definition of "free" in your part of the world. Attitude certainly not appreciated in our part.

This will be free, since this will reflect the real feelings of citizens toward the traitor. But if police is present, the tomato throwers may be fined, there is no anarchy in Israel.
