My daughters grandmother recently got a new boyfriend since then she sees the grandaughter about 1 hour a week where as before she saw her everyday. She has made it clear to us she has a new life however she becomes very hostile if the granddaughter is not available for the weekly hour upon demand. Im not sure what to say to her because, she is irrational.

Christin, If that's the biggest problem with your daughter's grandma, consider yourself and your daughters lucky.

Sounds like grandma is caught up in a fresh new romance. Hard to be sensible at times like that - even for grandmas.

Since it sounds like she was more involved, and is going to stay involved even at this point, she'll probably be available a bit more as the steam comes off the new romance.

Good luck to everybody.

(and welcome to A2K, Christinagome)
