Quote:Office Workers Willing To Leak Passwords for Chocolate
By Mitch Wagner, Security Pipeline
Almost three quarters of office workers in an impromptu man-on-the-street survey were willing to give up their passwords when offered the bribe of a chocolate bar.
The organizers of the conference Infosecurity Europe 2004 plans to announce on Tuesday that they surveyed office workers at Liverpool Street Station in England, and found that 71 percent were willing to part with their password for a chocolate bar.

Not too surprising!
Of course, to get to my computer, you'd have to get past several security guards and three ID checkpoints...
With your password they are coming in on the net.
Okay, my password is *************.
Now, hand over the Godivas and no one gets hurt.
If you carry your own supply, you never have to worry about compromising your integrity.
I'm not surprised. Given the incredibly boring work of the corporate world, and the crappy pay for your resume, many people would give away secrets for choccy. Now, put a basket of choccy at reception every day (a minimal cost), and perhaps these leaks wouldn't happen so often.
Um, I know what I would do in this situation: give them a bogus password and keep my treat.
but i am not a chaulk a holic, it makes me cough besides.....
On easter I had some Godiva White Chocolate liquor or something like that - man was it good - what you guys want to know
Jespah, that's the ticket--rip off the crooks!

Good point Cav. I'm sure their survey would have had different results at the Hershey Corporation.
colorbook, CEO's never think of the small stuff. That's why they go on expensive retreats, or hire me to do inreactive cooking classes for 'team building'.
So, you're saying, cav, if the interactive cooking class involves chocolate, you're collecting passwords?
PS Cinne - I like the idea of carrying your own supply, but it's starting to get warm here and that could be very messy. Can you suggest a very small cooler I could carry, something for a purse or backpack, in a variety of designer colors and styles? :-D A Wonder Woman lunch box is nice but a bit large and it doesn't keep things cool.
Well I have the kind that melts in yer mouth not yer hand
I'd sell my firstborn for a good sandwich.
jespah, such an accusation! I am a purist, and would never take a password for chocolate, mostly because I'd have no idea what to do with it anyway.
