It's not well written, but i don't know that it's ungrammatical. Yes, that sort of tripe sounds all too natural on the part of English speakers.

The first seems slightly ungrammatical, maybe s/b "and be more merry." The purist might require a comma after "passion"
The second I think ok grammatically but it seems also needing a comma to prevent misreading as "thank you for all my best wishes"
