David Cameron risks “damaging Europe” with his anti-immigration stance, leaving his looking increasingly isolated in his attempts to restrict free movement in the EU.
Should that be "his looking", or "him looking"?
@Raffere,
Because "him" is an alternative for "himself" (David Cameron), the direct object of "leaving".
"Looking increasingly isolated..." is an adjectival phrase describing "himself".
