yes, I have some knowledge of this artist. His paintings are quite rare. If the painting you have is an original and signed by Alan Curtis it could be worth in the range of between $12,000- $15,000. He signed his work A.Curtis. Are you interested in selling this painting? also- most of his work was framed by the Illinois Moulding Co. which would be printed on the back of the frame. Is this blacksmith Superman? How can he paint with a barn? Wouldn't a 20 foot fir tree make for a better paint brush?

I have a picture that my dad had for many years ; Is a reprint not painting still really beautiful, my pictue is two small children playing outside of a mill house in the water swimming. His work looks alot like Paul Detlefeson that is close but no spelled exactly right ; there work is very similar. the signature was a.curtis and i bought it since it looks so good with my detlefsen pics ..maybe that is correct. Nice pic. the pic by the blacksmith shop is detlefsen. I wouldnt be surprised if they hadnt trained or worked together since there art styles are so similar, My pic has a willow tree that is specifically nice work.

Paul Detlefson painted a number of "Village Smithy" paintings . They were well done stylistically and the artist was quite skilled. However, his paintings were usually kinda sappy.

how old was Alan Curtis when he painted the old swimming hole? How do I know if my painting is real or a print?My grandmother had this pic hanging in her house when I was 3 or 4 and 55 years later it hangs in my home. Thanks for your help.
